In Memory of Max William Donahue It is with great sadness to inform our family and friends that Max , 23, died August 7th of wounds received August 4th while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, CA.. Max was a U. S. Marine Military Police dog handler with the 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment. Max proudly served with the U. S. Marine Corps for 4 ½ years. Max will be missed by many and will continue to live in the hearts of the people that knew him. He is survived by his mother, Julie Schrock; step-father, Chad Schrock; father, Greg; brother, Ryan; sister-in-law, Devan; and step-brothers, Taylor and Jordan Schrock. Max is also survived by a large extended family including his maternal grandmother, paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. He’ll also be missed by his girlfriend Jen and his many, many friends. Max's family has been overwhelmed by the many expressions of sympathy and support. They wish to thank all who kept them in their thoughts and prayers. Max's mother wrote the book, Missing Max: Finding Hope After My Marine Son's Death, which tells of her experiences the months following his death. Books can be ordered at www.advbookstore.com.
